TIME MANAGEMENT & QUESTION ORDER

Learning Objectives

Students will learn to allocate their time efficiently, prioritize high-confidence questions, and avoid spending excessive time on difficult passages.

Step 1 – Complete Writing Questions

10–15 min

Step 2 – Return to Reading

15–20 min

Suggested allocation within a 32-minute module; adjust based on individual performance.

Strategy

1. Complete Writing questions first, aiming for approximately 10–12 minutes, with a maximum target of 15 minutes.
2. Return to Question 1 and complete the Reading questions.
3. Skip particularly difficult Reading questions temporarily.
4. Return to flagged questions after completing the more manageable ones.

Important: Writing questions are often faster to answer, but they are not automatically guaranteed points. Students should only use this sequence after confirming through timed practice that it improves their accuracy and pacing.

Reading questions in the middle of the module can be especially demanding, but difficulty is not determined solely by question position.
